Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela  was born on 1918 and died on the 6th of december 2013. He went to primary school near Qunu and receives his name Nelson by a  teacher. He Attends Wesleyan College at Fort Beaufort in 1983.

Nelson Mandela has 8th kids and three different wives he had two daughters and two sons with his first wife and. Then he had two other daughters with his second wife. Now theres only three of his children are still alive. But nelson Mandela has had a really hard life to himself he will need a break from now on.

on December the 6th 2013, Nelson Mandela died. He will never be forgotten. It is sad because one of the peaceful men like Nelson Mandela would leave. He is a hero. He will always be one.

Johnson & Johnson

Thank to the Johnson & Johnson for the present it was amazing I loved it , it  was grateful that you guys did that for us. Especially for doing it for the whole school that was problem hard to do. But you guys are fun and wonderful yours can do anything.

My present was awesome I loved it and I will treasure it for good , thank you thank you I can’t say anything else to say. Well the Present I got was that gift maker thing it was so cool I made my friends a gift card and even made me teacher one. I can’t be grateful then this you are the BEST!!!!!    

Ana Reflection 2013

This year has been really great for  my learning because of my netbook it helped me a lot. The internet is so awesome I don’t know what i’d do without it. The thing that I love about my  netbook is that you can go on anything you want and search up things that you don’t know and you want to know.

I have learn on my netbook that you can make heaps of things like your on song’s and animate on pixar. Which is amazing and people can look at your work and say something nice about it for you. I have learn form my friend about strategy.

I had really fun this year because of my friends and teachers and most of it my learning it been great I don’t want the year to end. But I think the teachers want it to hurry up and end I have learn heaps of thing this year by my best teacher miss king. You are the best the most thing that I have improved in is my reading and movie making.     

Action world

On Friday the year 7’s went out for a trip to action world  I was so excited to go there. We had to be at by 8am because the bus was leaving at 8.30am. When I got to school I was so happy I just wanted to got in  the bus and GO!!!.

But theres was bad news only one bus came and we all couldn't fit in there so some of us had to wait for the second bus. Me and my friends were playing hand games while we were waiting for the bus. The bus took like 10 years later. Then finally  he was here I pop on to  the bus as fast as I could because there might not be enough seat for us.

YEEEEEEEAAAAAH I could see the action world sign , we're nearly there and it looks so fun can’t wait to go and try them it gonna be so awesome. We had to seat in our groups Quietly and listen to instructions. befor we had free time.

When we had free time me and Grace waited in line so we can go on the jousting yes it our turn can’t wait to beat her. We ran up to each other I went down and push her but she fall down and sat on the age of it  tielt so then I holded her my arm and we  both fall down on the soft stuff.

SO she won but it was so fun I didn’t want to go back to school.

Ana First day at Point England School

Walking to school with my brother Melvin I was to scared to enter the school grounds I wanted to run home to my mum. I was about to burst with tears my eyes were watery holding Melvin shoulder back to wait wishing my mum was here with us. Then  “I saw my aunty happily I went to her  in the office and I ask her desperately if she can take me to class because I didn't know where to go” “Yes my aunt  replied.”

My first class was room 13 and my teacher’s name was miss King O M G I didn't want to go in there.Then miss King came to the door and welcome me in I walked in and everyone was looking at me like I was creepy. I had butterflies in my tummy please don’t cry I was saying in my mind. I was meeting  my first friend and her name was Aldora she became my best friend like a week later. We were the best friend’s ever I thought in my mind Being at point England school is not that bad after all and the teacher’s are awesome, most of them. Anyway’s point England is the best school ever. Now I've been a point England school for 3 years and so far miss king been my best teacher

India sends spacecraft to Mars by Lizabeth, Ana,Grace and Kimberly

In India they have started their first spacecraft to Mars. Their hoping that the spacecraft will reach Mars safety. They planned to send the spacecraft to travel 300 days. The rocket had lifted off on Tuesday the 5th of November and it should reach mars  in September 2014.

People are asking whether  India should be spending $130 million on a space rocket when their country is one of the highest position for childhood malnutrition in the world.  We think that India shouldn’t have paid $130 million dollars just for a space rocket when their are many children that needs to be feed.

If their plan succeeds then India will be the fourth space agency to reach Mars.  What will you choose, spend $130 million on a spacecraft or save more children from dying of hunger?.

Cyclone in India

In India half a million of people have been evacuated out of there houses in eastern India due to a powerful cyclone. During that cyclone there has been a powerful hit, it has washed away tens and thousands of people. Roof tops from huts has been washed away from the mud, And flooding towns and villages.

                         In class, we did Hexagonal Learning and this is practically connecting 2 or more Hexagons together. But we have to have a reason why they are connected. We got into three groups and we had make our own Hexagonal Learning puzzle and swap it with another group. Here are two of the Hexagonal Learning puzzles we did. This activity really got us thinking and was really interesting.

so Jack decided to give Ray a problem to deflate his ego a

36 and the sum of their ages is 13,” Jack replied. “That’s
no help,” said Ray. So Jack weakened and gave him
another clue. “O.K. My youngest son is very naughty.”
“Nothing to it,” exclaimed Ray and he told Jack the
correct ages of his sons.

Some octopuses, some fish and a few
mermaids were happily frolicking in a rock
pool. Altogether there were 38 arms, 24 eyes
and 8 tails all swimming in the pool.
How many mermaids were there?

We have been solving a problem and trying to answer the question. We’ll the question “was how many mermaids were there?” There is 38 arms, 24 eyes and 8 tails. We know that there is 12 creatures all together. Our answer was three. There were three mermaids.

We worked like this.... We did 4 x 8 = 32 38-32 = 6.  

EYES- First we solved the eyes because all creatures have eyes. 24 - 2 =12

TAILS- If 8 creatures have tails then 4 creatures don’t have tails.

Now we know there are 4 octopuses

ARMS- 8 x 4 = 32 38 arms all together. now we have 6 arms 6 - 2 = 3 so 3 mermaids and 4 oct... 12 creatures 3 mermaids 5 fish so how many creature are there ? 12

Now a third of the seats at The Chicken N Chips were

empty and a half of the places at The Pizza Place were

empty. If 18 more people wanted to eat out, how many

would have to be turned away from the two restaurants?

 

Cross Country

With butterflies in my tummy, I look around at all the crowded people sitting down on the hot concrete, peering at me, I was racing all the year seven’s it was a challenge omg I might come last I was so scared I didn't

even want to run. But I had to and if I didn't come miss king would make me run on Monday at lunch time. Standing at the starting line I felt like crying.

“Mr Burt said are you ready , get your  mark , ready set GO”. I ran as fast as I could running past all these people my brother said “Run faster.” I gave him my eye’s “Eww!” I said in my mind. I got up to the reserve and  I was so tired I wanted to stop, but I still ran. We had to run two laps Which I really didn't like.

Then I was on my 2nd lap trying to finish quick so I can have a long break. As I started running again I saw the  year eight girls. Then I saw a boy pass me. I wanted to run faster, but I couldn't because I was out of breath. I was pasting myself slowly so I won’t have to stop all the time. I could hear my friend’s saying run Ana run faster.

near to the finish line, I past some people and this lady looking familiar was like “run girl, run girlfriend to the end you can do it”. “Yaay the finish line is right in front of my brown eyes. I went past the finish line and came 9th. I was really proud of myself.

Hi, me and Ana is making a movie about what things we have been focused on this term. A

na is focusing on her maths, so she can make and big improvement for the next half of this year. My name is Annliz and I need to work on my drawing.

Me and Ana have a lot in common, well not really a lot ! But yeah. We like to laugh. We like to be crazy. At times we be blond. We are good friends. We both dislike running. We both laugh at our own jokes even though it’s not funny ??? The answer to all of this is that we LOVE being eggs:)

With a lean wiry body,  climbed the tall towering mountains. Feeling scared and nervous he kept climbing to get to the top. Going through all that tough things he finally made it to the top. When he got there he felt very exhausted and his muscles were aching. As he was walking towards the big door he crossed his finger’s with hope.

He knocked on the door and the sensei opened it, he took a ball to the sensei ,and sensei pointed. He thought that he was telling him to go away,  but the boy was feeling very sad and rejected. So then he sit there and meditating all night and then when it was the morning he knocked again and the  sensei pointed and the boy was angry and gave the sensei his eye. Then the sensei pointed and the boy look careful and it said please use the back door thank you.

The boy put his hands in his mouth and said sorry.

Once upon a time there were three young wolf’s who lived on a farm with their family. One day when they were kicking back the mother said “ GET UP AND GET OUT!!! You're getting too old , and I’m getting sick of doing your room when YOU’RE supposed to do it yourself. So the three wolfs split up and went out on a journey to find out where they might  live.

The first wolf was really lazy he just wanted his house to finish quick so he could kick back inside. He made his house out of plastic bottles. It was finished within half an hour he was really happy and said “Hahaha I finished  before you all and you can’t bet that shame. So off he went to kick back in his new house. The terrifying pig came along and knocked at the door. “Who is it” the wolf said with a lazy voice. “Big wolf big wolf please let me in” the terrifying pig said. You can come in if you want. The pig enter the house and the wolf was really scared. “Oh no” the wolf.

Can you please get out off my house he said. The pig went out and shut the door then he blow the house down. AAAAAAAh he screamed then he ran to his other brother house that was right next to him. His house was made out of candy then the pig knocked  on the door. “Come in” the wolf said. The pig walked in and gave the wolf his furious face. Then the wolf told him to get out and the pig ran away.

Burger"s

It was my little baby’s 1st birthday and I was making burgers so then I was getting started. I went to go see if we had any patties and we didn't. So then I had to run to the shop and get some patties ,  can this day get any worse. I ran into the shop and they didn't have any patties omg I was going to chuck my shoe at them.

So then I had to go to another shop , I ran in there shop and cross my fingers if they had any patties and they had patties thank GOD. I went home and started cooking. GOOSH I had to make 30 burger’s in one hour I was not sure if I am going to get it ready.

It was past one hour and I got it done but one was so so big and I didn’t have any time to cut it so then. I put it in the car and drive off  yeah and thank GOD again singing happy birthday it  my baby.  Omg she look so cute I just wanted to hug her so hard but I couldn't. They all started and everyone was singing.

The Heart Attack

I feel that the Heart Attack Grill should not come to NZ, because it sells unhealthy, fatty food that can kill you!

The food at The Heart Attack Grill has much more fat in it than other takeaways like KFC or McDonalds. The serving sizes at this restaurant are very large. Hamburgers can be quadruple sized, fries are cooked in lard and are unlimited, milkshakes are full fat and made from butter.

When the people eat too much of their food they can get so fat and then have a heart attack and go to the hospital so then the doctors will have to work harder. But it is also hard because it costs too much money for the government.  

You can argue that maybe The Heat Attack might get heaps of money, from sales of hamburgers in GI and then be able to take some fat out of their food.

I feel that the Heart Attack Grill should not come to NZ, because it sells unhealthy, fatty food that can kill you! So we truly think that it should not open in NZ in GI.

Making Bread

Yea my class is making bread on the last day of the week and it is going to be so fun I can’t wait and. Guess who we are cooking with mama King if you don’t know who she is it is Miss King mum , how cool is that. OK it was one more sleep unit it was the last day of the week and we were making  bread Yea.

OMG it is the day we are making bread i wake up at six and got ready and then my mum got up and went some where. She didn’t come back unit 8:35 and I was like “I am going to be late for school” and making bread. I look outside and my mum just got here yea i ran out and “said can you drop me off”  “she said get in the car”.

Driving to school “i said mum where did you go” “she said to fix the van” oh we finally got to school and i hardly didn’t see anyone then i. said in my mind that school has  started I ran and corss the road and. Into to school and i saw kids playing and it hasn't started yea then I went to class and put my bag away and then the school ball ring just in time.

We all line up for assembly then we walk to the hall and sit down I am so excited to make our bread. With mamam king , omg assembly took so long it was like one hours and i could not sit there because I was so tired. Yea it finish we went back to class and started making our bread then we had two be  with a partner and I was with my friend.

Step 1 you will need  sugar , C oli ,  warm water , egg , salt , yeast ,  bread flour          

Step 2  you will need a bowl a teaspoon and better last but not less measuring cup’s  ok let get started.

 

                                              COOKING STEP

1 C plus 2 Tbsp warm water
1/3 C oil
2 Tbsp yeast
1/4 C sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
3 1/2 C bread flour (seems to work better but all purpose flour will also work)

 Step 1 Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2 In your mixer bowl combine the water

Step 3 yeast and sugar and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.  

Step 4 Using your dough hook, mix in the salt, egg and flour.

Step 5 Knead with hook until well incorporated and dough is soft and smooth.

form dough into 12 balls and then place in a greased 9 x 13 pan and allow to rest for 10 minutes.  Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees or until golden brown.
